At the present time, the trend toward users making the switch for making online payments using mobile devices instead of credit cards has not picked up as quickly as the security industry as well as the data industry would like. There are many different types of digital payment systems, such as Google Pay, Samsung Pay and Apple Pay. In order for people to become more aware of the greater security that mobile devices provide, a data company called mSignia presented the UCI UX Capstone Team with a challenge. The challenge was to find out when users would or would not be willing to release personal information.
After going through the Stanford design thinking process the UX Team learned that the best solution was to allow users to release their personal data after a sign-up flow, rather than as part of the sign-up flow process.
